Pulp Fiction Title Sequence

Sequential Design: Individual Project

final.1.jpg

Concept

This sequence focuses on the moments where surrealism collides with reality.

The tomato joke serves as the overall metaphor for the movie, as the characters are constantly trying to catch up. Each frame captures the essence of the chaotic moments in the film and the illustrations help portray the story in a humorous and surreal way.

Inspiration

The characters for the Pulp Fiction Sequence are inspired by characters found in the early 1900s advertisements for their bold and symbolic nature. We also looked into artists such as Slinkachu and Marija Tiurina, who often used their expertise to create an alternative reality with 2D and 3D elements.

Process

With the goal of infusing 2D characters into reality, the characters were illustrated and then extruded in Cinema 4D for compositing.
